Practical Examples
Obstacles
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and a lack of working space on the university campus, the team was forced to adopt a hybrid remote/on-site workflow. This created many communication and motivation issues that needed to be addressed. Developers working remotely would often miss out on important information or decisions because they were communicated in person, which led to frustration and demotivation. I took steps to minimize this issue by moving our SCRUM rituals to all-digital, centralizing where important information can be found, and implementing a more comprehensive meeting structure for important decisions. This largely resolved the issue, and taught me how important good information flow is to a team’s success.
Accomplishments
Despite being quite nervous, as this was my first full-scale project as a producer, the team successfully achieved the milestones for the concepting stage and received positive feedback from our teachers. After this when I moved to another project, I received many positive messages about my performance from members of the team.
